WE UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU’RE UP AGAINST
Everything you prepare has to get somewhere.
And right now, that involves a person walking.
Meds-to-beds support challenges. More on that below.
This is a logistics problem that's been handed to your clinical people.
Solve it with autonomous mobile robots.
We've worked with pharmacy teams for over twenty years.
We know the job you have to do and we can help you get it done.
Aethon specializes in designing autonomous mobile robots that deliver medications and pharmacy supplies inside a busy hospital.
Not a warehouse, manufacturing facility or restaurant.
Over twenty years ago we began this journey with pharmacy departments, their workflows and the needs of pharmacy directors.
We’ve watched the same thing in every one of them: skilled pharmacy staff spending their shift walking.
Zena Rx is what we built for pharmacies and the needs of pharmacy directors specifically. Our mobile robots have made millions of deliveries in health systems across the country and we can help you and your pharmacy team.
MEDS TO BEDS
Your meds-to-beds program shouldn't depend on who happens to be free.
The clinical case isn't the hard part. The logistics is.
Meds to beds works. Patients leave with the prescription already in hand, the first fill revenue stays with your outpatient pharmacy, and adherence no longer depends on whether someone stops at a retail counter on the way home.
But discharge doesn’t happen on pharmacy’s schedule. When prescriptions are needed at discharge somebody has to leave the pharmacy and get it to the unit. Except if nobody is free in that window, the patient goes home without it and the value of the whole program goes with them. Scaling house-wide means hiring for the walk.
Zena Rx delivers while your pharmacist does the counseling.
THE PLAN
Four steps to getting your techs out of the hallway.
No pilot program that eats a year. We’ve been there and done that so we can just get to work with you.
1. Book a Call
We will start with you.
Tell us about your staffing, clinical workflow requirements, pain points and overall logistics with nursing teams.
We will put together a presentation, proposal and quote to help you plan for mobile robots each step along the way.
2. Design Workflow
We develop a detailed plan and workflow design that includes delivery points, routes, elevator use, dose type delivery, multi-factor security requirements and support of 24hr operations.
All of this is supported by simulation to ensure you have the right configuration and robot resources to meet your turn-around-time metrics.
3. Implement
We deliver both the mobile robots and the staff to make it all happen. Nobody in our organization needs to be a robot expert. Our team of project managers and installers works with you and across the rest of the organization including nursing and IT so that your investment is successful.
4. Make Deliveries
ZenaRx works day and night, weekends and holidays. Our Command Center and Robot Operations Center handles the robot so your staff doesn’t need to be experts.
PHARMACY LOGISTICS AUTOMATED
Send the whole run.
ZenaRx gives you over 10,000 cubic inches of secure storage and this is the highest capacity mobile robot in healthcare. The smallest ampule and the largest tote can go on the same run to make the most of every trip.
Secure Construction. Each delivery is secured behind a steel door. A nurse or other healthcare worker can only access the compartments to which they are authorized.
Because you like to be organized. Up to 16 baskets across 4 compartments. Baskets can be pre-loaded on the bench and easily swapped in and out.
Configure it your way, right away. The center divider can be easily removed and reinstalled on the top or bottom giving you access to the full width of the robot and configurations for 4, 3 or 2 compartments as needed.
Biometric access. Secure access is enhanced by two-factor security including a required pion and optional fingerprint reading if required.
Flexible and Secure. No tradeoffs.
24/7 COVERAGE
It works the night shift you can't staff.
Up to 10 hours of continuous runtime. Returns to the dock on its own between runs to provide nearly continuous operation. The dock is powered by a standard wall outlet and does not need not an infrastructure improvement project.
Up to 10 hours of run-time.
Intermittant charging keeps it continuously available.
Autonomous return-to-dock.
AUTONOMOUS NAVIGATION
Nobody has to hold the elevator.
3D sensors and side-mounted LIDAR let ZenaRx move through crowded corridors, nursing units and restricted zones without staff intervention.
It calls its own elevator and opens its own doors
Boundary-less mapping across floors and levels.
Full elevator integration across all brands.
Auto opening door system integration
Safe around patients and staff
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
What changes in the first ninety days?
| TODAY | TOMORROW |
| Techs walking the building | Techs in the pharmacy preparing doses or on the floor supporting care |
| Night, weekend and holiday coverage gaps | Coverage that doesn’t call out |
| Custody unclear | Every delivery secured, timestamped and logged |
| Frustration with the pneumatic tube system | Bypass the pneumatic tube system alltogether |
You've probably made the case for more staff.
This is the case that gets approved.
Hospitals you know run on Aethon
The pharmacies at these hospitals are not struggling to support logistics with their clinical staff.
This is the difference between a hospital that uses its people for patient care or one that finds themselves constantly understaffed.
Incorporated 22 robots into their pharmacy operations at the new Arthur M. Blank hospital construction project which perform around 200,000 deliveries per year
Four pharmacy robots perform about 25,000 deliveries at the McKennan location.
40 robots installed across 16 VA Hospitals nationwide.
A single pharmacy robot at this facility performs over 21,000 deliveries annually and logs over 2,000 miles.
