Automatic Robot Cart Handling
Almost like magic the T3 line of mobile robots locates the cart, precisely drives itself under the cart, lifts it, and secures it onto the robot.
Additionally, the robot can drop off a cart independently using its precision navigation. When the robot arrives at the delivery destination, it lowers the cart, unlatching it from the securing clamps, and then drives away.
Automatic drop-off and pickup can be performed with both full and empty carts.

The T3 robot carries the heaviest carts your people routinely move. Our standard T3 model will haul 750 lbs and the slightly longer T3 XL model will haul 1,000 lbs. This includes traveling on ramps as well as flat surfaces.

Cart Compatibility
EXISTING CARTS
We can utilize your existing carts or can help you source new robot-ready carts, compatible with the T3 and T3XL. The T3 will handle a cart up to 44″ long while the T3XL will handle a cart up to 56″ long.
For existing carts, we provide a standard base onto which the existing cart is affixed. so, it can interface with the robot. Our project management team works with you to identify the carts and we oversee the retrofitting effort using our preferred cart base manufacturer.
NEW CARTS
Those customers who decide new carts are in order we can help you specify and acquire new robot-ready carts. Every major cart manufacturer is familiar with the Aethon robot design requirements. We can help guide your choices and facilitate the purchase of carts.
Cross Department Utilization
Since the cart bases are standardized, robots can be shared between departments. For example, the distribution of linen can occur in the evening while the pickup of trash could happen in the daytime – all using the same robots.
This makes the most efficient use of the robots and also spreads out the utilization of elevators and the overall flow of material through the facility.
Elevators & building system integration
We have worked with virtually every elevator manufacturer and can connect to your elevator banks whether they are staff-only, or a mixed use.
Aethon provides the software, hardware and connectivity necessary to request the elevator, direct it to stop at the appropriate floor, and even ensure we call the elevator with the cabin empty. We don’t rely on unreliable physical button pushing or floor-by-floor retrofitting.

Omnidirectional
Not only are the T3 autonomous robots strong and smart, but they are agile as well. Omnidirectional locomotion means the robot can turn within their own footprint as well as travel laterally and diagonally. This allows the T3 to navigate obstacles easily as well as the tight spaces it encounters in different departments and facilities. It also allows them to navigate smoothly in supply rooms, through doorways and on and off elevators.

Our Command Center can remotely troubleshoot robots when problems are detected, and most issues are resolved by our staff with no interaction from the hotel.
