This in-person panel discussion will feature prominent robotics business leaders in the Healthcare industry. These executive leaders will share their perspectives on industry challenges, commercialization strategies, customer success approaches, state of the industry, what ‘not’ to do, and lessons learned. There will be time at the end of the panel discussion to network with the speakers and other attendees to meet each other, ask questions, learn more and strengthen our community connections. We hope you will join us as this will be a valuable and exciting event!

Meet Our Panelists

Doug Descalzi

Vice President, Robotics & Automation

Douglas Descalzi joined Omnicell in November 2014. Prior to Omnicell, Mr. Descalzi held a variety of leadership positions with Bayer HealthCare, formerly MEDRAD, Inc. He founded the molecular imaging device business at Bayer and served as the Head of Research and Development for Computed Tomography, MEDRAD’s largest business unit. Mr. Descalzi started his career at GE and has co-founded several technology-based startups. He holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MS in Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech, and an MBA from the University of Virginia.

Omnicell

As a leading provider of medication management solutions and adherence tools for health systems and pharmacies, Omnicell is transforming pharmacy care. By replacing error-prone manual processes with an intelligent infrastructure of automation, intelligence, and technology-enabled services, delivered through the cloud, we’re making medication management smarter and safer for all.

Peter Seiff

CEO

Peter Seiff is the CEO of ST Engineering, Aethon and oversees all aspects of company operations including engineering, manufacturing, sales and support. He has worked in robotics for over 25 years, specializing in non-traditional and unstructured environments. He has held leadership positions at Aethon since 2004 and prior to becoming CEO, held the position of Sr. Vice President of Business Development where he was in charge of all revenue-producing activities. ST Engineering, Aethon

At Aethon, we know that you don’t become a world leader by following the crowd. That’s why from the very beginning – and to this very day – we’ve led by example. Innovation is at the core of everything at Aethon – every employee, every idea, every action all focused on finding a better way to change movement for the better. We’re automating logistics. It’s why we were founded. It drives our thinking. It’s what we do better than anyone. We’re the world’s #1 autonomous robot for material handling for a reason. Our TUG mobile robots automate material delivery in hospitals, manufacturing and hotels. They are collaborative, safe and efficient and make over 5 million deliveries per year.

Josh Caputo

President & CEO

Trained as an engineer and turned entrepreneur, Josh has been engaged in the research, development, and commercialization of wearable robotics, exoskeletons, orthotics, and prosthetics technology for over 10 years. First, as a PhD/post-doc researcher in the Experimental Biomechatronics Laboratory at Carnegie Mellon University. While at CMU, Josh founded Humotech and built the company from scratch in his garage; today, Humotech’s hardware/software platform CaplexTM is helping to accelerate innovation in over leading 15 R&D labs around the world. Recently, Josh and his co-founders started sister company Realize Labs to leverage the expertise he’s developed to bridge the divide between end-users and developers of innovative technologies industry-wide. Josh’s driving passion is to realize the potential for wearable machines that technologists can see but that end-users cannot access given the myriad of practical obstacles that stand in the way of progress.

Humotech

Humotech provides a hardware/software platform to support the research & development of prostheses, orthotics, exoskeletons, and other wearable machines. Humotech accelerates discovery of innovative real-world solutions to enhance and augment human mobility through Caplex™ – a testbed for systematic human-in-the-loop exploration of the mechanics of wearable machines. Our systems support experimenters and designers across sectors exploring new approaches to solving the complex challenges of human/device interactions, in order to improve health outcomes and push the boundaries of human physical performance.
